I Find Peace Like This
Our team member and Peace Architect Alejandra Barbé Sevilla took part in “Ethical Leadership Amid Global Crisis” organized by Global Peace Leadership last week in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where she had the chance to introduce World Peace Initiative and its project Peace Revolution to a wide range of international peace builders.

One of my friends asked me to take a look at the peace revolution web page, as a new thing it made me curious. I registered and watched the first video and answered the questions carefully. I went to my friend, who introduced me this website, and I asked a lot of questions about what I should do. Did as I’ve been told to and I was somehow happy about it. I was on my twenty-seventh session when I got Mena Salam III fellowship mail. I applied for it.
We live in a wonderful world, surrounded by the beauty of nature and people who love and care about us. But till the time we understand, recognize and appreciate all the amazing moments which we live in, we skip many important and beautiful trices, without understanding the value of it.
I knew about meditation before discovering Peace Revolution, but at that time, I was not that disciplined to meditate every day. So, Peace Revolution not only helped me cultivate discipline but also, gives me a totally different method to calm my mind.
As a Republic, Burundi’s current president Pierre Nkurunziza started his third mandate in August 2015. Ever since he declared that he would run for a third term on 26 April 2015, which some claim to be unconstitutional, the country has found itself in a political turmoil with violent protests leading to about 240,000 (registered) refugees, and suspension of international government aid. Currently, the violence has become less intense and more sporadic, but the country is yearning for more stability.
What if I told you that the world could be at peace?
What if I told you that all these suffering in the world has an end.
What if I told you that people can learn to forgive each other and appreciate the goodness that exists within them?
La paix ! Un sentiment tant convoité, il nous parait parfois si loin qu’on le croit inatteignable sur terre, qu’on le croit éphémère, parce qu’on le cherche partout sauf au bon endroit ! Nous même.
Ever wonder what will it be like to achieve Nirvana? That is the state of being achieving true oneness within – to free yourself from desire, suffering and the sense of self. It can really be challenging as we cannot deny the fact that we live in a materialistic world.
So, how to start to write about how to star to meditate, again?
Definitely, the only way is simply doing it. So here I am, working on Saturday and trying to find a way to organise my head.
