Mindfulness is a state of mind that helps you focus on the present without being judgmental. You do not necessarily have to cut down on your food intake to lose those pounds as you can adjust your mindset by training your mind to be consciously aware of every bite that you take. Often we are not aware of what we munch and nibble on throughout the day casually in office, or while dropping your child to school. Your body continuously gives you cues as to when you are hungry and you need to decode your body’s feedback accurately so that you do not misinterpret them and indulge in impulsive eating. Just like a good night’s sleep is important for your child similarly eating mindfully can help you take care of your health.
Everything that comes to an end restarts in some form or another. As I come to the end of my series, it is only the end because I feel I have given an objective enough perspective of my experience with the Amani 2 fellowship, and perhaps this may provide you with a somewhat informed decision when you opt to apply for such an opportunity. It was amazing in my books.
Everything was not told (maybe I should consider writing a book) but everything told was as I have sold. So, let’s see how this epilogue will unfold.
New car, expensive dress or vacation in Canarias? We often think that happiness comes from outside. How about looking inside to realize that we can be happy here and now? How about meditation? In order to share the benefits of meditation and mindfulness, from September 19 to October 1 Peace Revolution Spain organizes a tour where two certified meditation trainers – Alejandra Barbé Sevilla and Agnija Kazuša – will teach meditation and share their experiences about mindful living during sessions in different venues in Barcelona, Madrid, Asturias and Galicia.
WPI under the Peace Revolution project has promoted many fellowships for youth people. For the second time, WPI is inviting our partners to this fellowship specially made for them. The retreat will take place in Mexico from November 30rd until December 4th in Casa Azul in Tepoztlan, a charming village near Mexico City.
This article, written by Matt Witt, aims to provide some insight into the aims of the Artistic Meditation Retreat, an annual event that brings together artists from all over the world for two weeks of meditation and art creation.
In January 2014 I embarked on a new chapter in my life. I now understand that we are constantly beginning and ending chapters in our lives, day-to-day, but this seemed like one very epic beginning, like the pages of my book tore out, transformed into a flock of origami cranes, and carried me in my sleep to start a whole new volume, a second life.
The very first time when I heard about meditation happened many years ago when I was 16. I had been introduced to the world of deeper understanding, although back then I have been too young to comprehend. I remember that I was attracted by this secret power called meditation. People who meditated seemed to be so different. But I wasn’t sure If I was curious or opened enough to learn more.
The gift of stillness continues to remind me of who I truly am. I appreciate the depth, the teaching, the encouragement and the humor that this retreat has brought me and the people…must not forget this gift.
