Finding Calm During Crazy Times

Finding Calm During Crazy Times

Sometimes things just don’t go to plan, and unexpected crazy situations can take over your normal day to day life. With the whole world in chaos over the current COVID-19 pandemic, it can seem difficult to find calm and stay sane.

Therefore, we have put together these helpful tips on how to stay calm and collected through difficult times. This will help you to combat your worries or anxieties during this difficult time and leave you feeling more able to navigate through challenging situations.

Maintain Your Routine

When things are feeling chaotic and crazy, it can be easy to fall out of your normal routine, but maintaining your usual schedule is now more important than ever. While your priorities may differ during difficult times, if you totally abandon your usual commitments, you will find that new problems will be created.

Therefore, you should readjust how you prioritize your responsibilities and manage your usual workload with any new commitments you need to consider. Where you can, maintain your usual routine in order to feel calm and collected.

Get a Good Night’s Sleep

When things get tough, you can find yourself lying awake at night worrying about the situation you find yourself in. However, in order to successfully navigate through a crazy time, it is important that you get enough sleep. Sleep is not only essential for our overall health and well-being, but it will also help you remain calm and collected when things get tough.

If you are struggling to get to sleep during this crazy time, then you should make sure your bedroom is a comfortable and relaxing environment. Definitely consider either removing any electronic devices or for the ones that can’t be moved (like an air conditioner) make sure to black out the LED lights. It’s also important to sleep on a mattress that’s the right size for your body type. Being well-rested will help you be more equipped to get through any challenging time.

Identify and Manage What Is Worrying You

When going through a difficult situation, it can be easy to let everything get on top of you, and even the smallest of issues now seem like the end of the world. So, we recommend that you break down your worries and anxieties and identify what exactly is troubling you. This will help you tackle and manage what is worrying you and help you to feel more in control.

Be sure to practice self-awareness and be kind to yourself. This is a stressful time and it is inevitable that you are going to feel more stressed. So, take the time you need to disengage when you feel like things are too much for you. Remember that you can only deal with one problem at a time.

Think Positive

Even in the most difficult and challenging situations, there will be positives around you that will help to see you through. If you are finding yourself stuck at home, then make the most of this newfound free time to spend it with those in your household or by organizing and cleaning your living space.

This will transform how you feel about the situation you are in and start to see the benefits of being home more. Going through challenging circumstances will help your strength of character and leave you more equipped for hard times in the future. Remind yourself daily that you WILL get through this.

Reach Out to Your Friends and Family

Even if you can’t pop round and see your family and friends, that doesn’t mean you can’t try and connect with them. There are many ways you can reach out by making the most of technology. Tell others how you feel and you will be calmer and more relaxed.

By taking it one day at a time and being kind to yourself, you will find it much easier to remain calm during crazy periods.
