Lake Manasarovar, sometimes referred to as Mapam Yumtso, is one of the Great Three Holy Lakes of Tibet and is a major pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists. This region is mainly visited during the ritual of the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra, where thousands of Buddhists and Hindus travel the sacred kora surrounding Mount Kailash. These pilgrims take a bath and drink from the holy water after climbing the traditional kora around Mount Kailash. This once in a lifetime trip is an epic road trip journey from Kathamandu to Saga, Lake Mansarovar, and Mt.Kailash. Our package combines all the major Tibetan attractions.

The pilgrimage to Kailash Mansarovar is not merely a physical journey but a profound spiritual odyssey that nourishes the soul and deepens one’s connection to the divine. It offers pilgrims an opportunity for introspection, self-discovery, and communion with the sacred energies of the Himalayas.

MORE INFO ABOUT THE JOURNEY
Mount Kailash is one of the most sacred peaks in the world located in Southern Tibet and standing at a height of 6,638 m. It has recently become one of the must-visit places on any tour of Tibet. This mountain is regarded to be sacred by four separate religions; Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Bon. To the south of this sacred Mount Kailash peak, beautiful Lake Manasarovar and its twin, Lake Rakshastal, are located.

This 15 days’ tour starts from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. We then take a private jeep ride to Kerung, a newly opened border between Nepal and China, before heading to Lasha. The drive follows a winding road to Dhunche and Syabrubesi which is located in the Langtang Himal region of the Rasuwa district. At Syabrubesi village, the air turns cold as the drive passes between the enormous Ganesh and Langtang Himal peaks. A short drive from here follows dirt roads passing several nice villages before arriving at the border between Nepal and China/Tibet.

We walk to the entrance of Tibet to complete the visa formalities, and our Himalayan Forever Tibetan guide will be waiting there to receive you. We finally enter the Tibetan soil through Kyirong, an area located beyond Ganesh and Langtang Himal. Spend some time at Kyirong, before heading towards Tibetan vast windswept country that offers jaw-dropping views of snow-capped peaks.

Our journey now heads towards Saga which is the first long-drive of our trip. We drive on the desert terrain land and will be crossing Brahmaputra/Yarling Tsangpo river on our way while also enjoying the amazing views of Gaurishankar, Shishapangma and Langtang Himal. Drive from Saga and head to another city of Paryang (4558m), which offers the first view of Mount kailash and the holy Mansarover lake. Besides, Manasarovar is the highest freshwater lake with a turquoise complexion and is surrounded by Mt. Kailash.

The road trip continues as we head for Darchen, which serves as the base for Mt Kailashkora. Enjoy some peaceful hours at the shores of the sacred Manasarovar Lake, and then our trekking journey starts as we trek towards Dira-Puk(5000m). We continue trekking towards Dira Puk-Zuthul Puk and once you reach the top, make some holiest offering and sit down for meditation as is the ritual of this place. Enjoy a spectacular panorama of the Tibetan vast plateau and snow peaks, as you finally end the Kailash Parikrama/Kora.

Drive back to Saga through Lake Mansarowar and get back to Kyirung. Eventually, we drive from Kyirung to Kathmandu after finising necessary formalities. Experience unreal aerial views of the Himalayan mountain range, which includes Makalu, Lhotse, Shisapangma, and Mount Everest. Finally, our Mount Kailash Overland Tour comes to an end, leaving us with wonderful memories of majistic Tibetan cities and several world’s highest plateaus.
