Have you ever wondered how to go from passion to profession? I have long sought to know how to be happy every day of my life in the job that I do. It took me a long time to understand and know that being happy in your job is simply making your passion a profession. Learn how to do it in four steps.
1. Take stock of your current situation
According to the Gallup poll, 85% of people hate their jobs. This could be explained by the fact that most of the people in the world do not work their passion. Working our passion makes our job a fun party and we enjoy every aspect of what we are doing. So, it is important to discover our passion and then turn it into our work. In order to start looking into what you would love doing, what I propose first is to take stock of your current situation and ask yourself:
Do I feel today that I do not know how to find my passion? Am I passionate about what I am currently doing? Am I satisfied with my professional life?
The answers to these questions will help you analyze your current situation to understand whether what you are currently doing is your passion or not. In other words, finding your passion is doing what you love. It is being helpful to yourself while being free to use your creativity every day is also finding your way to a fulfilling career.
2. Identify what motivates you
Passion is what motivates you every day. It is the flame that illuminates your life and makes your wings grow. It is very often that we make choices based on what society suggests us to do. We may study longer than we want to, obtain high level diplomas and get a good job in a prestigious company. However, if accomplishing these or other achievements, you still cannot be happy at your work, this means that you have missed your passion. Confucius rightly says, “Choose a job you love and you will not have to work a single day of your life”. The passion profession occupies you, but be careful not to be completely absorbed!
3. Smartly break the rules
Breaking the rules smartly is to do what you love despite challenges. It is to be able to stay normal even if our behavior does not justify the rules of society. From 2015 to 2018, I had the experience of smartly breaking the rules imposed on me by my parents, society and even sometimes by life. My parents have been teachers and my mother and father also wanted me to become a teacher. But as I have to smartly work out my own ways to find my passion, sometimes I was teaching in some secondary schools, but finally I resigned out of the lack of passion in teaching in schools and became a journalist.
In short, we only need to focus on what we like to do in order to be happy doing a job, otherwise we end up working just for the sake of money. Watch your emotions to identify the work that will always make you happy everyday of your life. Do not hesitate to leave a job intelligently if it no longer meets your aspirations. Plan carefully for your departure and take an action. Though it may not be easy, the joy that you will experience will let go your fear and pain.
4. Take an action
A good way to take an action would be by identifying what is the job you would do if you were not paid. According to my observation, people who succeed in making passion their main activity have a huge success without too much effort at work.
You may ask yourself these questions:
- What excites you?
- What are the topics that fascinate you and make you spend the whole day without feeling tired?
- In which area do you excel?
- In which area are you creative?
- What would you regret not having tried on the last day of your life?
- How would you like people to remember you after your death?
Dare to choose the passion that becomes profession despite your initial fear, worries and responsibilities that block us too often in our comfort zone. Let’s not live another person’s life and let others define our story. An enthusiast never fails, because to indulge your passion is already a success. Too many people flee their passion due to the fear of failure and end up taking refuge in a job that gives them more trouble than pleasure. Finding your passion and making it a profession means being sufficiently aware of your natural potential and confidence in yourself. Because the happiness that you will experience every day in your business passion is priceless. Why not start today?
