From December 12 to 26, 2025, 59 young leaders from 14 African countries gathered in Thailand for the Peace Club Architect Training (PCAT III), a flagship program of the World Peace Initiative Foundation (WPI). More than just a training, it was a journey of personal and collective transformation.
An Experience Beyond a Typical Retreat
PCAT III was not an ordinary retreat. For some participants, it was an opportunity to refine skills they had developed throughout the year. For others, it marked the beginning of a path to becoming true architects of peace in their communities.
Over the two weeks, the young leaders engaged in a program blending meditation, mindfulness, leadership, and community development, while also sharing social and inspiring moments together.
A Comprehensive Program for Real Impact
The program combined theory and practical activities:
– Meditation and Mindfulness: to better understand oneself, manage stress, and act with clarity;
– Leadership and Community Development: to strengthen the impact of Peace Clubs and develop local initiatives;
– Social and Fun Activities: ice-breaking exercises, bubble activities, birthday celebrations, and inspiring moments to foster group cohesion.
Each participant left certified as a Mindfulness & Meditation Trainer, ready to apply their skills in their countries and inspire their communities.
A Gathering of Cultures and Nations
Participants came from Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi, Madagascar, Eswatini, Guinea, Benin, Nigeria, Liberia, Guinea-Bissau, Congo, Sierra Leone, Togo, and Gambia. This cultural diversity enriched exchanges, created lasting bonds, and gave everyone a broader vision of peace and leadership.
Closing Ceremony and Celebration
The closing ceremony and award presentation marked the end of the two weeks. Filled with joy and emotion, participants celebrated their experiences and personal transformations. These moments will remain in their memories and motivate them to continue building peace in their communities.
Begins with Committed Leaders
PCAT III demonstrates that peace is built by young people united by a common goal. Every lesson learned, every connection made, and every shared moment transforms these leaders into true architects of peace, capable of making a difference in their environments and inspiring other young people across Africa.
